Stamp & color

Latest project:

I had a lot of fun with this one. Idk why I went with pink but I really like it. This is a Julie Nutting ( Julie Nutting’s website) Stamp and I used it on Bristol paper.

I used my Chameleon Pens  ( Chameleon Pens website ) in the colors: Bubble gum (PK3), Cool grey (CG8), Bisque (NU1), Fawn (NU3), Hot Cocoa (BR2), and Bark (BR5). All of these are in the basic 22 pc set (since that is what I have). You can probably use your Copics or some similar colors in alcohol inks. Those are what I used since I have them and don’t really want to get any other brands. I do like the few Copics that I have but like the versatile nature of the Chameleon Pens for what I use them for.

I also used my Derwent (Derwent website ) pencils. I used the Inktense pencil in Fushsia 0700 (that is the spelling on the pencil). The last color in this was the Metallic in Purple 89. Both of these were from the pack of 12 from their respective tins. I like the shimmer on her dress from the metallic, and she looks party ready.

Oh, and I used a water brush with distilled water. I only use distilled water in my water sprayers, misters, and brushes. We have very hard water.

I wish I could have set this up to be recorded so I could show how I did it. I couldn’t tell you how long it took because I was doing other things at the time too (and I take frequent breaks).  Maybe I’ll get a tripod (or something that will work) by Christmas. 🙂 It also seems that I’ll need to use my phone for my videos for the time being. So, I’ll try to keep the camera steady and keep my vids real short. 😉

I’m undecided on whether I want to put her in my art journal, on a card with foam dots (for dimension), or just color the other three before I decide on anything. Leave me a comment if you have any ideas!
Bye for now!

Drawing Faces

I’ve had really bad back pain the first part of the week. So, yesterday and today has been a couple of “stationary” days. I’ve been designing things for the quilt guild / quilt show committee ( PVQ ) on my laptop, which I’ll work on the physical parts on a different day. Also, I’m practicing drawing my faces. Yay!

I’m still not quite happy with the way my ears look. So, I’m really focusing on those. I think this one will have hair covering her ears. I’ll eventually get the ears the way I want them to look – in some way that works for me. When I do, I’ll be drawing some short hairstyles!

I did a short unboxing video recently and I want to continue making some short little videos. It will depend on the way I am feeling at the time and possibly if my lovely husband will help me by holding the camera (my phone) or getting a tripod that will hold it for me. I just want you all to know that I’m planning on more videos. 😉

I would like to know if you want to see organizing, or art videos first. Please comment below and let me know!

My First Video

Hey guys!

This is my very first ever video!!! I was trying really hard not to shake the camera or squeak and hurt your ears. So, I am a little subdued this time… I don’t know why I thought I’d do a thumbs up… it just kind of happened! LOL

To my friend Karen: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! (insert squeal of joy and hopping up and down)

This was my birthday gift box (I guess Hunny is going to do dishes for me haha) from her, and she knows me so well!

I really want to start filming what I do at my desk and other flat surfaces (since I tend to hop around the room) while I am creating stuff. I just haven’t figured it out yet. Right now I just have my phone to do videos and photos from. So, I’ll most likely do a lot of photos on here and not a lot of vids (atm anyway). I watch Lindsey – The Frugal Crafter- a lot (she is here on WordPress and on YouTube) and she is very high energy. I watched some of her videos about doing videos (along with some others) and the ruling opinion is that if you are thinking about doing videos– you should just jump in and start… So, I have my first video up… now… 🙂
